About Me
Hi, I'm Amy. I am a professional copy editor specialising in fiction. I provide freelance proofreading, copy editing, and critique services with bespoke editing for the flawless finish your project deserves. Whether you require an in-depth line edit, or a final proofread to get your project release-ready, I am happy to help.

As a self-published writer myself, I know how tough it can be to get that manuscript just right. It is downright frightening to put something so precious, so personal, into the hands of another, but a second pair of eyes is essential. My priority is to polish your manuscript so that your voice can shine.

My Background

After gaining my BA 1st class honours in English Literature and Creative Writing in 2015, I gained some experience in publishing with Ebury (a Penguin Random House imprint), before becoming a freelance copywriter and writing for online magazines like Grad Touch. This, however, could not quench my thirst for literary discourse. So, in 2017, I attended Queen's University Belfast and completed my MA in Literary Studies with a focus on women's writing. Thinking I should perhaps get a 'real job', I trained as an English teacher, and after teaching English for three years, realised that the best part of any of these experiences for me was, by far, the chance to implement my knowledge of grammar, my love of writing, and my passion for good stories. I completed copy editing training with the Chartered Institute for Copy Editing and Proofreading whilst building my experience in fiction editing, and am now accepting new projects for 2023.

More about Me

When I am not buried in editing or immersed in my own world-building, I sometimes venture outdoors and take amateur-standard pictures of the very beautiful Cornish coast, but can otherwise be found in an excellent establishment that feeds my coffee addiction whilst I devour fantasy novels at an alarming rate. Sometimes, I even make art, which, if you really want to, you can find on my personal blog.
